Manhattan has picked a firm to develop the Flint Hills Prairie Discovery Center.
The Manhattan Mercury reports city commissioners have given the go-ahead for city staff to negotiate a contract with Boston, Massachusetts-based Verner Johnson and Associates.
A 50-million dollar bond the city received in 2006 will go in part toward construction of the discovery center along with other expenses involved in a major project to redevelop the downtown area.
