The fire started around noon at Anderson's Leather Shop, 118 North Santa Fe, Salina, forcing people in neighboring businesses to evacuate.

Streets were blocked off as fire crews worked to put out the flames.

The leather shop has been in Salina for at least 60 years.

Surrounding stores are expected to re-open fairly quickly. They sustained minor water and smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
