KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Police have identified the armed man who was fatally shot by a Kansas City police officer after raising his gun.
The Kansas City Star reports that 44-year-old Rodney A. Jones was killed Friday at his home near the Truman Sports Complex in Kansas City.
Officers were responding to a call and were told Jones was inside the home intoxicated.
The woman who made the call said she was a relative and that he had threatened her with the gun.
Police said Jones confronted an officer at the front door with a large handgun. Jones was shot after raising his gun.
The officer, who was not injured, was placed on paid administrative leave.
