Hundreds of people in Topeka were walking for a good reason Saturday morning.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness, also known as NAMI kicked off its fifth annual NAMI Walk for the Mind of America at Washburn University.
Senator Vicki Schmidt was also there to speak at the kick off ceremony after which walkers took off on the two mile course.
The NAMI walk was established to show support for individuals living with mental illness and to raise funds for the organization.
