A Topeka school honored some special friends Friday.
Jardine Middle School held a reception to thank its many volunteers. Nearly 30 community members and parents who've helped out throughout the year were on hand.
Jardine is home to many volunteer programs, including the "Watch DOGS." It stands for "Dads of Great Students." Fathers come in once a month to patrol the halls and help out with the students.
Volunteers also serve as mentors and tutors to students. "Youth Friends" and "Junior Achievement" volunteers also visit Jardine.
The school's staff says all those efforts have made the students' success possible.
