The Jayhawk Basketball team's National Championship win came with a hefty price tag for the City of Lawrence.

Celebrations from the tournament and parade reportedly cost the city more than $53,000.

That was money spent on extra law enforcement, firefighters, medical officers and damage to landscaping.

Overall, city officials say given the number of people celebrating KU wins, the crowd was well-behaved.
