A Seneca High Schooler is making a name for himself, by being a positive role model for other students.

Monday night Students Against Destructive Decisions welcomed National Executive Director Penny Wells to a dinner to share the latest news about SADD.

She said her main reason for coming was to celebrate National Student of the Year, Stephen Winkler, Nemaha Valley Senior.

Stephen is a senior at Nemaha Valley, and says he uses his platform to reach others in a positive way.

"I just want to be that role model for students, just to reach out to students to make a difference," said Stephen Winkler

He's a leader in his community, tremendous sense of integrity and thoughtfulness. he has the respect of his peers and we're really excited about the year with him," said Penny Wells, National Executive Director, SADD.

Stephen will now serve as the chair for the student leadership council.

He plans to attend college in Boston next year.
