First Day in Jail for Woman Convicted in Drunk Driving Accident

A Topeka woman was able to spend the weekend with her daughter before reporting to jail Monday for the next 41 months.

Jessica Dennon, 27, was sentenced to almost three-and-a-half years Friday for involuntary manslaughter.

The judge denied Dennon's plea for probation so that she could be with her daughter.

Dennon was driving drunk the night of December 7, 2006 when she hit a vehicle driven by Justin Fujibayashi, 25, head-on on the Oakland Expressway.

He died three days later.
