Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church in Topeka held a consecration service Sunday to dedicate a new addition to the church building.
The new building is part of the church's efforts to keep facilities on par with their growing congregation. The remodel and expansion of the church's current facilities including new church offices and classrooms will provide more space for church functions.
New classrooms will be used for the church's preschool and after school childcare programs.
The project took about five years of planning. Last fall, ground was broken for the new facility and a about a year later, the church is happy to be able to utilize the new building.
The project cost more than a three million dollars.
