House speaker Melvin Neufeld feeling a little heat Saturday night from an upset senate.

The house called it quits until Monday, but senate leaders said they weren't told ahead of time.

It left senators upset Saturday night when they had hoped to finish the wrap-up session and go home.

Instead they criticized house speaker Melvin Neufeld for
adjourning without telling them. The senate responded by canceling all meetings between house and senate negotiators until further notice.

Both chambers are to return Monday, but senate leaders said they won't bring back members until there is work to be done.

Neufeld said he didn't want to keep house members in session
into Sunday morning.
