A fundraiser for local soldiers will also memorialize veteran names.

The grass between two sidewalks at Gage Memorial Park will be replaced with bricks baring the name of a veterans.

There are 25-hundred bricks total, selling for 50-dollars each. They'll be grouped in sections by war.

Money raised from the bricks will help pay for a new statue for the memorial and keep the memory of our soldiers alive.

The first brick placed in the ground today was for Topekan Jeremy Drexler who died in Iraq four years ago today.
