GOODLAND, Kan. (AP) _ While other parts of Kansas assess damage from hail and high winds, blizzard conditions are possible in the northwest corner of the state.
The National Weather Service on Friday issued a blizzard warning through 7 p.m. for far northwest Kansas, including St. Francis, as well as southwest Nebraska and northeast Colorado.
Strong winds and snow will produce blizzard conditions with visibility of a quarter-mile or less. Only an inch or two of snow is expected, but high winds will create whiteout conditions.
Light snow mixed with rain is expected in the Goodland area Friday.
Power outages and scattered damage are reported in eastern Kansas. The highway patrol says an 18-wheeler was blown over in Douglas County. No injures are reported.
