Fire and rescue crews were called into action, and brought boats to the shore of the Kansas River Thursday during the 7:00 hour. They got the call about a boy, about 12 or 13 years old, who was seen floating or swimming in the river. There's still no indication how the boy wandered or fell into the water.
Crews tracked him as he floated past the Kansas Avenue Bridge toward Northeast Topeka. Rescuers grabbed him as he approached the riverbank near Porubsky's at around 7:25pm. There's also been no word today on the boy's condition.
