BUHLER, Kan. (AP) _ Prosecutors have upgraded charges against the suspended Buhler teacher accused of sexually abusing a male student.
Richard B. Young, 68, was charged Wednesday with three counts of aggravated indecent liberties. He had been charged with the lesser indecent liberties with a child.
District Judge Joe McCarville also scheduled Young's preliminary hearing in the case for June 4.
Young taught at Buhler High School for four years after working in Little River and Hutchinson schools. Buhler Superintendent David Brax said Young was suspended with pay Nov. 1, when school officials learned about the investigation.
