A power outage caused some problems in the capital city Sunday.

The outage caused some problems on the road ways as lights in the area of 17th and Washburn and 17th and Topeka were out. Topeka Police were able to direct traffic until the problem was fixed.

A problem with a data transformer is reported to be the blame. Up to 500 homes and businesses were affected.

It created problems at the Expocentre as fans were put on hold for about an hour before the Road Runners hockey team could take the ice again. Making the best of the situation, fans kept the hype up in the expo under back up generated light.
