Hundreds of people laced up their shoes to help babies.
The March of Dimes "March for Babies" stepped off at the Topeka Zoo Friday evening.
Thousands of babies are born prematurely every year. The March of Dimes works to prevent those premature births and improve treatments for those babies who do arrive too early.
The "March for Babies" raises thousands of dollars to help that cause. The event was known as "Walk America" prior to this year.
13's Lindsay Shively helped host the Topeka event.
