A former child motivator will need a new attorney to make his case for a new trial.
John Ambrosio withdrew as Darryln Johnson's attorney Thursday.
Johnson pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery and burglary charges in February. In exchange, drug and kidnapping charges against him were dropped.
Johnson is currently serving time on federal charges, which he says overlap one of the drug charges he plea bargained down from in his district court case. Johnson is claiming double-jeopardy, meaning he cannot be tried twice for the same crime.
His case is set for a docket hearing May 8th, while he gets new counsel.
