Less than two months on the job is long enough for Marshall County's new sheriff to know he wants to stick around in the position.
43-year old Dan Hargrave filed this week for election to a four-year term.
Hargrave was a county commissioner when he took over as sheriff in March to fill out the term of retired sheriff Kenny Coggins.
So far the Republican is the only candidate to file for the November race.
