A Topeka high school organization helped organize a life-saving opportunity Thursday.
The Topeka West Student Council set up a school blood drive with the help of the Community Blood Center.
Students took advantage of a legal opportunity to donate. A legislative change last year allows students as young as 16 to donate. Organizers say the new law has helped in collecting much needed blood.
