KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) _ Four construction workers trapped in a flooded tunnel in Kansas City, Kan., have been rescued.
The Kansas City Star reports that all for were treated for hypothermia at the scene and released.
Authorities say the workers were involved in a flood-control project Thursday afternoon. They were traveling by boat through a tunnel that links Turkey Creek with the Kansas River. But excess water in the tunnel caused the boat to capsize.
Officials say workers routinely use the 90-year-old, 1,275-foot tunnel to travel between the two waterways.
