Our Wednesday's Child will have you "eating right out of her hand."
Her name is Stephanie and she's 13 years old.
With Topeka Zoo Director Mike Coker's help, Stephanie spent an afternoon feeding the giraffes.
Carrots and apples were on the menu. Usually on Stephanie's plate is school. She said she likes math, science, computer, p.e.
Away from school? "Beads. I like to draw, read, do math in my head, read the bible."
After listening to her hobbies, we know that Stephanie would like to be adopted by a family of faith.
Plus, "any race, at least one younger child. A family that likes to have fun, go to the park, just run around I guess. They'd be loving, understanding, willing to listen to how I feel." A tall order from a young lady who's been in foster care for eight years.
Maybe your family could make this year her last year in state care and her first year as part of a forever family.
For more information about Stephanie or any of the other children in need of adoption, call Kansas Children's Service League.
A special thanks to Mike Coker and the folks at the Topeka Zoo.
