Igoring Manhattan Mayor Mark Hatesohl's request, a group is continuing its lawsuit against the city.
A third court hearing is scheduled for Tuesday in the suit brought by members of Manhattan Citizens for Sustainable Downtown Redevelopment. They filed the suit in February.
The group wants a permanent injunction against the Manhattan City Commissioners' action allowing a 78,000 square foot Hyvee grocery store to join the city's development plan. The commission voted in January to amend plans for the development to include the store. The plaintiffs say the amendment is not reasonable.
The Manhattan Mercury reports progress on north end downtown redevelopment has nearly halted since the lawsuit was filed.
