FORT RILEY, Kan. (AP) _ The large part of a Fort Riley brigade is heading home to Kansas.
Approximately 300 soldiers of the Fourth Brigade Combat Team of the First Infantry Division, will arrive Tuesday afternoon after 15 months in Iraq. More than 3,200 soldiers have returned from the deployment since April 10.
A group of 150 soldiers arrived in March and another group of similar size will be home next month to complete the brigade's return.
The soldiers operated in the Rashid neighborhood of Baghdad, restoring basic services and rooting out insurgents.
About 4,100 soldiers from Fort Riley remain deployed, with another brigade training and awaiting orders to leave later this year.
