MULVANE, Kan. (AP) _ The Mulvane City Council meets Monday night to consider a campaign aimed at convincing lawmakers and lottery officials that it has the best location for Sumner County's casino.
Members say it's time for the council to step up its efforts to attract the casino to the south-central Kansas town. The council will review written proposals for the campaign from two Wichita agencies.
A state casino review board will choose one casino for Sumner County. The fight over where that casino should be has bogged down
in lawsuits that some say could hurt the county's chances of getting any casino.
The Kansas Lottery has set a May 27 deadline to agree to contracts with Sumner County casino developers.
