Tyson Plant Closing in Nebraska

Nearly 110 people losing their jobs there...but with that it could mean a few job openings in Emporia

Our radio partner KVOE says that Tyson foods says they are consolidating by closing their plant in York, Nebraska.

Some of the equipment from the plant will come to Emporia, but company officials think the existing work-force of roughly 700 people can handle the new load with little additional staffing....but some openings may be available.

Production at the York plant will end June 17 th. In late January and early February, Tyson announced it was laying off a total of nearly 18 hundred employees at the Emporia plant.
