TOPEKA, Kan. - Hill's Pet Nutrition Inc., honored its community volunteers at a ceremony Thursday, April 17 at the Ramada Inn Downtown.
In its 6th Annual Caring Hearts Volunteer Recognition event, Joy Klemencic, Hill's vice president and chair of the Caring Hearts committee, honored and thanked more than 500 Hill's for their efforts in the Topeka community and surrounding areas.
"The number of employees participating in this program continues to grow," Klemencic said. "Just last year, we recognized 476 volunteers for their volunteerism in 2006. This year, we are recognizing more than 500 Hill's employees for their community work in 2007."
In 2007, Hill's volunteers provided more than 15,000 hours of community service, which is equivalent to an estimated seven full-time volunteers. Non-profits, such as Junior Achievement, Meals on Wheels, Big Brother/Big Sister and more than 70 other agencies received support.
