FORT RILEY, Kan. (AP) _ A Fort Riley soldier found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the stabbing death of her ex-boyfriend has been sentenced to four years of confinement.

Fort Riley spokeswoman Alison Kohler said Tuesday that 22-year-old Specialist Latoya Pitts was also given a dishonorable discharge and a reduction in rank to E-1.

A military judge last week convicted Pitts of fatally stabbing Private Antonio Ortiz outside a Manhattan bar in October 2007.

Pitts and Ortiz got into a violent confrontation after leaving Silverado's, a tavern in Manhattan. Ortiz was with another woman at the time.
