Talented art students from the 2nd District of Kansas got a chance to show off their artwork.
Fourty-nine entries were submitted into the annual Congressional Art Competition hosted by Congresswoman Nancy Boyda.
The winner was a self portrait by Alex Kim, a Lawrence High school senior.
The self portrait will hang in the hallway between the house office building and the Capitol in Washington DC.
The runner up art pieces will be displayed in Boyda's congressional offices in Washington, Topeka and Pittsburg.
