LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) _ A Topeka man is sentenced to 15 years behind bars for shooting three people outside a Lawrence nightclub.
Carlos Jerome Jackson pleaded guilty in March to three counts of reckless aggravated battery. The 26-year-old was charged with shooting two club bouncers and a 15-year-old boy on Feb. 10 outside the Last Call nightclub, which has since closed.
Jackson said he was angry over a fight in the club but hadn't planned to shoot anyone.
Jackson had hoped for no more than 10 years in prison under the plea agreement. But Douglas County District Judge Paula Martin on Friday said Jackson's actions warranted that he serve the prison terms consecutively.
He'll also have to pay for the victims' injuries but a total hasn't been decided.
