You've probably heard of a boy named Sue.
But what about a girl named Kansas?
That's right, a Texas couple has named their daughter after the Sunflower State.
When Angela Lancaster and her husband were deciding what to name their new baby gir last September, the name Kansas popped up, and stuck.
The pair say there is no real story behind the name, other than they just liked. But Angela did say her husband lived in Wichita for a couple of years as child and thought the name captured a sense of 'Americana'
And how has the University of Kansas performed since the state's newest namesake was born?
The Jayhawks have only put together one of the best athletic year's any school has ever enjoyed, winning an NCAA men's basketball championship and the Orange Bowl.
