NESS CITY, Kan. (AP) The boyfriend of a woman who sat on the
toilet so long she was stuck to the seat will have a hearing next
month on a misdemeanor charge of mistreatment of a dependent adult.
Kory McFarren stood motionless Monday at his first court
appearance as Magistrate Judge James Kepple explained the complaint
and asked if McFarren understood it.
McFarren answered with a quiet ``yes.'' If convicted, he could face as much as one year in jail and a
McFarren will enter a plea on May 7 in a case that drew
worldwide attention after his girlfriend, Pam Babcock, was found in
February stuck to the toilet seat.
Authorities believe Babcock sat on the toilet for around a month
and had not left the bathroom for about two years.
