Father: Son Charged in School Plot Rights Violated

COLUMBUS, Kan. (AP) _ The father of a boy charged in an alleged shooting plot at Riverton High School claims his son's rights were violated when he was questioned and his locker searched,

Now Wesley Jaeger wants Cherokee County to pay $250,000 in damages. His then-15-year-old son, Andrew, was one of five students charged in the alleged plot. The boy pleaded no contest to misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

Wesley says he may file a lawsuit in federal court if the Cherokee County Commission does not comply with his request.

The commissioners referred his request to their attorney without comment.
