More than 200 people put one foot in front of the other Saturday morning to help save a life.

They all hit the ground running from Washburn University for the annual "Run for Life." The event benefits the Topeka Organ Transplant Organization and raises awareness of the importance of organ donation.

People could choose the ten-mile course or take a two-mile jaunt.

The men's and women's ten-mile winners -- Joe Gray of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Melissa Todd of Kansas City, Missouri -- both set new course records.
