WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ A federal judge is ordering an inpatient mental examination for a nurse who is charged with her husband of running a "pill mill" in Haysville.

U.S. District Judge Monti Belot ruled Tuesday that Linda Schneider should undergo an inpatient psychological evaluation to determine whether she is mentally competent to help in her defense. He refused a prosecutors' request for a report from another psychologist who examined her.

Federal prosecutors have accused Schneider of faking a deteriorating mental condition to get out of jail.

She and her husband, Dr. Stephen Schneider, have been held without bond since their December arrest on a 34-count federal
indictment.
