PLEASANTVIEW, Kan. (AP) _ Perry L. Stutzman and his family never really thought they'd be characters in a book.
But that's what happened when Perry's youngest brother, Ervin R. Stutzman, went on a journey to learn more about their father who was killed in a car accident in 1956, when Ervin was just 3.
That led to the publication of ``Tobias of the Amish'' in 2001. Now Ervin, the vice president and seminary dean of Eastern Mennonite University in Virginia, wrote a sequel, ``Emma: A Widow Among the Amish.''
Ervin describes his work, which was published last fall, as a type of ethnography, because of its detailed description of the Amish culture from 1956 through 1989.
