Friday and Saturday the friends of Mabee Library and The Student Chapter of the Friends of Mabee Library at Washburn University rolled out the greens for an indoor golfing experience called "Caddy Stacks."

Washburn volunteers built an indoor putt-putt course designed for the school's unique fund raiser. 18 holes were set-up and spread throughout the library's 3 levels.

Course play was open to the public and competitive players had a chance to tee-up in a tournament with prizes.

The event is part of Mabee's campaign to get students interested in the library. Until recently the building itself had seen no major renovations since its construction in the seventies. Now a process of modernization is underway. Changes are being made to make the library more student friendly. Additional lounge and study areas are being created. Staff are working to incorporate more modern technologies and some students and staff are working to toward opening a coffee shop in the library.

Library staff are working with students to plan more events that get students coming in the doors. By attracting attention from students and the community, the library hopes to raise money to help make significant renovations to Mabee Library possible.
