The Kansas State Treasurer's office is earning honors for its web site to help you find your missing money.
"KansasCash.com" won the Holders Choice award at the recent Unclaimed Property Professionals Organization conference. The site was chosen for its outstanding design and user friendliness.
KansasCash.com let's you search for any unclaimed property the state might be holding for you. State Treasurer Lynn Jenkins says the site has undergone major redesigns the past few years to make it easer for people ot use.
Each year, the State Treasurer's office gets $12- to $15 million from banks, businesses and organizations that belongs to someone. That property includes things like forgotten bank accounts, old dividend checks, old utility deposits or lost safe deposit boxes.
