WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ A Wichita day care provider's license is suspended over the death of a 1-year-old girl.
Authorities say the child was left for about two hours in a bathroom, strapped in an infant car seat that was too small for her.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment described the girl's death in a document announcing that it had suspended the provider's license under an emergency order.
The department said day-care provider Jessica Cummings called 911. But the girl had died by the time help arrived. No autopsy results have been released.
Cummings told The Wichita Eagle it was a ``terrible accident.'' She disagreed with the health department's description of what happened and its contention that the car seat was too small.
Neither the department nor Wichita police have disclosed the baby girl's name.
