A man accused in a homicide last summer.. and set to be sentenced on drug charges later this week is in the hospital recovering from gunshot wounds.

Topeka Police say 25-year old Arthur Wiseman III was shot just around 10:25 pm Tuesday. Police say Wiseman was walking in the 1900 Block of Southeast 26th when shots were fired from a passing vehicle. The vehicle is described as four-door, either gold or silver colored.

Wiseman was one of three men accused in last July's beating death of Randy Lyman outside an apartment building at SW 6th and Harrison. Charges against Wiseman were dropped. The two other men were convicted.

Wiseman was due to be sentenced Friday for a conviction on drug charges.
