The 5k run/walk brought out more than 100 Topekans Saturday morning. The event raised money for the YWCA's race committee. The committee provides programs to fight racism in the Capitol City.
Runners ran through downtown Topeka and enjoyed a pancake breakfast afterwards. People of all ages participated including kids. One boy ran the whole way with his mother without even being registered.
Jamie Kennedy is the spokesperson for the YWCA and hosted the race. She says that it is important that we continue to focus on race issues.
