Topeka Firefighters fought a fire in the 1200 block of Southwest Clay Sunday morning.
One firefighter was taken to the hospital to be checked for shoulder injuries and later released; no occupants of the home were hurt.
Firefighters responded to the fire around 4:45 a.m.
Part of the structure collapsed forcing firefighters to work in a defensive mode from outside of the house. An aerial unit was called in to help assist in extinguishing the blaze.
Right now investigators are trying to determine what started the fire.
