The Kansas Quilter's Guild celebrated National Quilting Day Saturday by presenting a donation of 473 baby quilts to St. Francis Health Center and Stormont Vail Hospital.
Quilter's Guild Members say it's a labor of love. For the members of the guild quilting is a passion. Making and donating quilts for babies is something that the Guild thinks is a very worthwhile cause.
The Guild challenged themselves to make just 300 quilts. Because of their hard work and donations, they surpassed that goal by more than 100.
A ceremony was held at the YWCA in downtown Topeka. The quilts were presented to representatives from both hospitals.
