Tyson Foods Fulfills Obligation to United Way

They may be downsizing but Tyson foods will honor the company's pledge to the United Way of the Flint Hills.

The Emporia Gazette reports Tyson will give $20,000 this month and another payment later this year to make up for pledges from workers let go.

Tyson eliminated about 1,700 jobs from the plant; 700 workers remain.

Employees had pledged $52,000 dollars to the United Way before the cuts.
