TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ Someone could strike it big this weekend as the jackpot for the multistate Powerball lottery game climbs.
None of the tickets sold in Wednesday's drawing matched the numbers, meaning Saturday's drawing will have a prize estimated at $275 million.
That would be the seventh largest prize, short of the $365 million won in Nebraska in February 2006.
Kansas has two other jackpots that are now worth more than a million dollars, but short of record levels.
The Kansas Super Cash Lotto jackpot is expected to top $1 million. The top payout was $3.1 million dollars won in December 2006.
The Hot Lotto jackpot is nearly $3 million, well short of the $12.9 million prize won by a Kansan in July 2007.
