FROM TOPEKA POLICE -- Members of the Safe Streets Lock It, Remove It or Lose It program as well as the area community officer, will be going door to door Saturday in the Chesney Park area to pass out flyers and to speak with citizens about the Lock It, Remove It or Lose It program.
This program aims to reduce vehicle break-in’s and theft by encouraging people to remove their belongings from vehicles, and lock their car doors. This effort becomes extremely important around the holiday season when individuals increase not only their shopping, but also travel more frequently and spend more time in a vehicle, raising their chances of leaving valuables behind in a car.
