Families rejoiced in the Capital City for this Christmas day.

All is calm and all is bright for Christmas in Topeka. Halls are decked with holly as families rejoice on this special day at Grace Episcopal Cathedral.

Meanwhile, Santa Claus came to town. He stopped by the Topeka Rescue Mission after a night of delivering gifts.

"Had a good tail wind past Guam and that helped me get into across the Pacific there a little faster so that speeded it up a little and it was more relaxing and we just had a lot of fun. It was really fast though," said Santa Claus.

Samara Thomas and her 4 kids say their Christmas at the Topeka Rescue Mission has been a special one.

"It makes us feel good as parents that they had something to open when there are a lot of kids that don't, you know, so I thought that was pretty good," said Sandra.

"When we get stockings full of candy is my favorite part of Christmas," said her 7-year-old son, Eddie, as he chomps on some candy.

'Twas a merry time for enjoying sweet treats, toys and spreading holiday cheer.

"Oh Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night," says Santa Claus.
