PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Several members of the Port St. Lucie Police Department rallied together Wednesday in support of a fellow officer who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
Even Police Chief John Bolduc joined in, volunteering to have his head shaved in solidarity with a Port St. Lucie detective who had recently had her own head shaved during treatment.
Detective Kim Bailey also followed suit, getting her head shaved in support of her fellow detective.
Along with the haircuts, the police department had a fully functional police cruiser decked out with pink accents.
Officers held a raffle to have “The Car for a Cure” as their assigned patrol vehicle.
Dozens of officers put their name in to drive the car to show their support and to encourage the officers’ fight against breast cancer.
