(CNN) -- An explosion leveled a three-story building Monday night in southern Lebanon, killing several people and wounding others, Lebanon's National News Agency reported.
However, Hezbollah, the political movement that controls the region, said there were no casualties other than one person being wounded in the blast in Tayr Filsay, a small town that borders the two larger southern cities of Sidon and Tyre. Hezbollah's press office said an investigation was under way.
The Lebanese Army cordoned off the area after the explosion, the news agency said, and ambulances and fire trucks arrived immediately.
The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon said it had been informed of an explosion and was in contact with the Lebanese Army.
