ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) — Suicide attackers killed four Pakistani soldiers and wounded two others Thursday, the Pakistani military said.
The incidents occurred in the country’s volatile northwestern region, where Pakistani forces have been battling Taliban militants for months.
A suicide attacker blew himself up moments after he was stopped at a military checkpoint in the Khyber agency, killing four soldiers, a military official said. Khyber is one of seven districts in Pakistan’s tribal region along the Afghan border.
Another bomber blew himself up when soldiers raided a home in the Swat Valley, the military’s press office said. Two soldiers were wounded and two militants, including the suicide bomber, were killed.
