Would-be Robber Held At Gunpoint Until Police Arrive

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A would-be robber had the tables turned on him Wednesday night outside a Topeka Family Dollar.

Topeka Police got a call at about 9:30 p.m. of a robbery in progress at the store at 2600 SE California Ave. The caller told authorities they were holding the suspect at gunpoint in the parking lot until officers arrived.

Police say a 28-year-old black male was arrested at the scene. They weren't releasing his name Thursday morning, pending further investigation.

No injuries were reported.
